Question about St. Brazil?
I recently purchased a small religious statue (a "Saints") of 1800 from a man who said it a saint of Brazil. He is dressed in clothes of the (1800 garments not as great saints) So I think we lived sometime between 1790 and 1900. He is sitting with legs straight, with knee breeches (pants) and has the left ear. I was said that the wound on his ear was a sign of his martyrdom, or belonged to the story of his holiness. As if he injured his ear, or had an ear cut off. The fact is nobody knows how it would be in Brazil? I do not know where to start looking. Any suggestions would be helpful. He is Caucasian (white) man seems to be represented as in about 45 years and thought it was a saint of Brazil. Please send suggestions.
